The fungus that attacks your lawn and causes a disease problem is actually millions of microscopic fungi working together to expand its own population. It draws nutrition from your grass and the grass suffers as a result. We call this suffering “Disease.”
Of those millions of fungi, there are always a few that are naturally resistant to the fungicide that is used to control the disease. These few will survive the fungicide application while the majority of the rest will die off. When the survivors begin to repopulate, the resistant variety makes up a larger percentage than before the application. After a while, 100% of the remaining fungus is completely resistant to the fungicide.
By rendering your lawn immune to fungicides, you leave yourself in a position of complete mercy to a disease problem that simply cannot be controlled. Since 95% of home lawn disease problems will simply run their course with only minimal damage and a temporary drop in visual quality, why risk that by resorting to an easy chemical fix?
